Common paediatric concerns:
-
Gross motor development concerns, such as delayed milestones (rolling, crawling or walking) and poor motor coordination
-
Head shape (plagiocephaly/brachycephaly)
-
Torticollis or “wry neck” - abnormal, asymmetrical head or neck position
-
Neurological conditions, such as muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy
-
Orthopaedic issues, such as flat feet or toe walking

Our method
Our specialist paediatric physiotherapists use a range of techniques for assessing and treating paediatric concerns. As examples:
-
Gross motor development - typically involves exercise prescription to help reach relevant developmental milestones.
-
Plagiocephaly/brachycephaly - measurements of head shape can be taken to help determine whether a helmet would be beneficial, or rather exercise and modified activity would be adequate in improving head shape.
-
Torticollis - our physiotherapists work with parents and/or caregivers and provide stretches and exercises that can help stretch the muscles and correct the neck position.
-
Flat feet or toe walking - involves stretching, strengthening, manual therapy and gait retraining.
By the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of how to manage your child’s concerns, and a tailored plan for ongoing management.
