Our method
Our specalist women's health physiotherapists will undertake a comprehensive assessment to reach an appropriate diagnosis and determine the best recovery pathway. Depending on your concern, treatment may involve:
-
Manual therapy
-
Postural and alignment correction
-
Pelvic floor muscle training
-
Core strengthening exercises
-
Bladder retraining techniques.
For concerns involving pelvic floor weakness, an internal examination of the pelvic floor muscles may be required. This examination provides more accurate information regarding pelvic floor activation patterns, strength, endurance and tone. However, if you do not wish to have an internal examination, real-time ultrasound can be used as an alternative.
By the end of the appointment, you will be well-informed about the cause of your concerns and have a tailored plan on how to manage it. It is likely you will be given a home exercise program to help encourage further improvement of your issues.
